|Thousands of people are already finding ScriptureEarth.org and the Word of God in their heart language. A comment to one of the Facebook ads from Jerry Yellowhawk, translator for Lakota, “We have been working on this translation project for years, I’m glad someone put it out there. Thank you.” A pastor on our prayer team shared today “We have shared it through our little mission church several times–a high school freshmen enrolled in German 1–with plans for 3 years–was so excited she shared it with her friends. At Smyrna/Atlanta, at Bethel Bible (Re)Training Seminar–I shared the address with other students and the staff. The folks who have been on Bethel Training trips to Africa were very excited-thankful. My fellow student Lalitha P is a former Hindu Tamil speaker from India who latched on to it!! Send more cards as we can surely use them”|
People ask us, “What is this new assignment going to look like for us? What is the proposed day to day activities?
We will be visiting cities across the US that have significant refugee or Native American populations.
- Introducing church and refugee ministry staff to ScriptureEarth.org, and how to use it.
- Help them discover which people groups are living within 3 – 5 miles of their church.
- We will help them build a vision for bringing people to Christ by using Scripture in the people’s heart language.
- Our plan also includes visiting Native American schools, cultural and visitor centers, cultural radio and TV stations and local ethnic community stores. We will be stopping at University and public libraries, Christian schools, Christian radio and TV stations, local newspapers, and more as God leads.
Our visits will coincide with Scripture Earth Facebook advertising to people groups who do not use English at home. Our team’s Facebook advertising has been extremely successful. After only two months there have been nearly 80,000 views of the ScriptureEarth.org ads on Facebook!
We are excited and passionate about what God is doing with ScriptureEarth.org. 75 years of Bible Translation; the scriptures in text form, audio, and video in thousands of languages accessible on one website. It’s all FREE, no cost, registration or subscription. It’s hard to believe that God chose Judy and me to do this work. And, He has also chosen you to partner with us in this ministry. The people we are hoping to reach will be forever grateful.
I, Jim, still have a 20% Wycliffe assignment to take teams to Chad for special facility maintenance projects. The next project is tentatively planned for April / May 2019, replumbing an 8 unit guest house apartment complex. Let me know if you’d like to join me. I also have a 10% assignment teaching motorcycle and 4X4 driving safety and maintenance to national and expatriate Bible translators and literacy workers around the world. The next trip is tentatively planned for early December 2018 to Papua New Guinea.
Scripture once understood, always impacts hearts! Call or email if you have any questions.
